Adobe Launches SEO Technology Center for Flash

Since the early days of the interwebs, Flash and SEO have always had a tenious relationship to say the least. Flash was just as invisible to search engines as Wonder Woman’s plane. Search engines have continued to work to try to get Flash pages better indexed and perform better in search results. A big step towards that goal was reached last Summer when Adobe provided it Flash technology to Google & Yahoo so their respective team of evil geniuses can figure out a better indexed search results for Flash websites.

This weeks news takes Adobe’s efforts even a step further. Adobe has launched a new SEO Technology Center for Flash to help designers, developers and content creators build Flash websites and applications in more search engine-friendly manner. According to the Adobe Developer Connection website:

Ensuring that search engines can crawl and index your rich Internet applications (RIAs)—so that your content can be found by others—is of critical importance to building and maintaining an online presence. While Adobe and the leading search engines are making significant strides in making SWF content more searchable, you can take additional steps now to improve your search ranking positions further.

This is a great step forward for creators of rich Internet applications (RIAs) since the old adage “content is king” still applies. For Adobe, it will ensure Flash technology’s ever expanding and evolving role in providing dynamic presentations of content.
